Intercollegiate Competitive Teams

Northwood University has earned a reputation for competitive success at the national level against much larger and well-known schools. Our students regularly demonstrate their ability to compete and win in a wide variety of professional skill areas.

Esports

Northwood University is one of the premiere collegiate Esports programs in the country. We offer a 2,000+ square-foot, state-of-the-art gaming center that caters to all levels of competitive gaming. Since the creation of the program in 2019, our teams have quickly climbed the ranks and claimed multiple national titles in Rocket League and Overwatch.

Collegiate DECA

At the 2022 ICDC, the Northwood DECA team was named a Top 10 Chapter by size and vitality internationally. Northwood had 15 members qualify for Nationals with 10 in the Top 10 in their respective individual events, including one National Champion!

Our DECA team is active throughout the year and also provides coaching and mentoring for high school DECA programs.

Mock Trial

The Mock Trial team earned a National Championship in 2009. The team was also National Runner Up in 2008, 2010 and 2014. In fact, the team has qualified for National Championship Competitions for the last five consecutive years, with Top 10 finishes in 2019 and 2021.

Latest Competition News

Athletics

Northwood is a NCAA Division II school with 18 athletic teams on campus. From Fall 2022, Northwood competes in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference.
